Artist Profile
My career as a Jewelry Designer and Goldsmith began 32 years ago. My earlier days were filled with education from government loans that ultimately led to a Secondary Teaching Credential with the Los Angeles Unified School District and a Master of Arts Degree, specializing in Metal-smithing and Jewelry making. I taught jewelry making in high schools for 8 years and set up a jewelry program for inner city youth for 2 years.
I began exhibiting my own work using craft fairs as my main vehicle. The craft fairs allowed me to sell directly to the public and still explore new and creative design ideas as well as experiment with new techniques. What began as a passionate hobby blossomed into a full time career.
Creating original pieces for individuals and couples is a very special process. There is a bonding that usually occurs from the first meeting. Trust is silently established and then comes the exciting evolution of a concept followed by imagery. The customer takes an active role in all these phases so they are able to watch and participate in the development as the project progresses.
What separates my profession from many others is that I am creating something special that hopefully makes a difference in a person's life for a long time. Whether the gift is motivated by a birth, a wedding, a job promotion or any other significant occasion there will always be a special piece of jewelry the symbolizes the momentous occasion.
